Come Join the Fun!

YMCA NC MSUN is a program open to 6th-8th grade students in North Carolina.  Students devote time throughout the school year getting ready to travel to Black Mountain, NC for the annual conference which is held over a weekend in late April/early May.

At the YMCA NC MSUN conference, rising 9th grade students are elected or appointed to come back the following year and serve as leaders of the conference. 

Delegates at MSUN participate as members of a selected country and attend meetings in the General Assembly (GA), Security Council (SC) or Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).  Prior to the conference, delegates will prepare country background papers and position papers.  Upon arrival at the conference, students meet in their committees or organs to debate set topics and work together as a group to write resolutions.

The YMCA NC MSUN conference isn’t just all hard work to solve world problems!  Typically there are a lot of fun events too such as the Festival of Nations, world cultural activities, games, movie nights, and other activities.  YMCA NC MSUN is a great place to meet new friends and experience something new.
